For families who have done this before or have a trusted contractor it works beautifully. For first-timers it can be stressful.
The dual-city (Ludhiana + Chandigarh) commuter appeal is real. I know families where one parent works in Ludhiana and the other in Chandigarh — Kharar at the midpoint is practical for both even if not ideal for either. With work-from-home normalised for one spouse, this becomes even more manageable.
